Motorway Guardrail Project - Metal Beam Guard Rails, Bridge Railings and Wire Mesh Fence

We supply and help construct highway / motorway guard rail barriers in Pakistan and other countries.

Below listed is guard rail systems for 4 Lane Motorway Construction project.

METAL BEAM GUARD-RAIL

Metal Steel Rail Elements
Galvanized corrugated steel beam conforming to the requirements of AASHTO M 180 .
Mechanical properties of the base metals for beams
Yield Point 3500 kg I .sq. cm. (Minimum)
Tensile Strength 4900 kg/ sq. cm. (Minimum)
Elongation not less than 12 percent in a 2 inch (5.08 cm) gauge length when tested in accordance with ASTM E'8.

The rail can withstand a cold bend without cracking of one hundred eighty (18Q) degree around a mandrel of a diameter equal to two and half (2.1/2) times the thickness of the plate.

End / Buffer Sections

The end or buffer sections are formed from open hearth, electric fumace or basic oxygen steel. The section is of the same or superior class and type used for the beam to which it is attached.

Connections and Splices

All connections / splices are formed with oval shoulder button - headed : bolts to minimize projections on the side of the guard. All bolts and ruts for beams conform to or exceed the requirement of ASTM A 307, and galvanized as specified in ASTM A 153. The bolted connection of the rail element to the post can withstand a two thousand, two hundred seventy (2270) kg pull at right angles to the line of railing.

Guard Rail Posts
Posts steel or concrete as specified.
Only one type of past shall be used for any one continuous Guardrail, except at junctions between bridges and approach embankments.

a) Steel posts shall be galvanized and of the section and length specified, manufactured according to the requirements of AASHTO M 183 for the grade specified.

b) Precast reinforced concrete posts: Steel Reinforcement meeting requirements of AASHTO M31 or M 53. Rebars are the deformed steel bars, manufactured meeting PASHTO M 31 or M 42.'

Wooden Spacer Blocks

Wooden spacer blocks between the Guard rail and the posts shall conform to AASHTO M-133 and M-168 and be constructed to the section and length specified.

Post Foundation Blocks

Post foundation blocks constructed in Class A concrete to the section and length specified.

Posts shall be set in galvanized tubular steel sockets cast into foundation blocks, for easy removal of posts damaged by vehicle impact. A clearance of 3 to 5 mm is between the socket and the guard rail post.

Metal Beam Guard Rail Construction

All posts shall be set vertically in the position specified and where embedded in a concrete foundation block shall remain undisturbed for a minimum of forty eight (48) hours.
The space around the post or post foundation blocks shall be backfilled to the ground line with selected earth containing no rocks in layers of not exceeding ten (10)cm and each layer shall be moistened arid thoroughly compacted.
Where steel posts are driven into the ground no buckled post or deformed head shall be accepted.
Following erection of guardrails, the space between posts and sockets shall be filled with epoxy mortar.
Erection of rails: Rail elements shall be lapped so that the exposed ends will not face approaching traffic.

Reinforcing Steel Bar for Concrete Beam Guard Rail

For concrete beam guard rails, we supply reinforcing steel bar at the rate of one hundred twenty (120) Kg: per cubic meter.

Bolts, nuts, washers, sleeves and other fittings conforming to ASTM Designation A 325 (AASHTO M 614), zinc coated galvanised in accordance with the requirement of ASTM Designation A 153 (AASHTO M232).

Guard Rail Posts: Precast reinforced concrete posts according to the requirements of AASHTO M 31 or M 53. All reinforcing bars are of the deformed type, conforming to AASHTO M 137. Reinforcing Steel provided at the rate of one hundred twenty (120) kg per cubic meter.

Steel reinforcement bars are furnished, bent and fixed for concrete reinforcing.
